Cartagena is the age port city , located in the region of Murcia, in the south – eastern Spain , on the Mediterranean Sea . For the fourteenth century, the history of this significant to the history of Spain, the city was very stormy – Cartagena frequented stamped first by Rome , and later by the Byzantine Empire , the Visigoths and the Arabs would eventually become the main base for the Spanish navy .
